GALWAY FILM FLEADH PRESENTS: A SYNAESTHETIC SCREENING OF SHERRY AND THE MYSTERY OF PALO CORTADO
 solera_system

Following the success of last year’s highly popular sensory screening Somm Night, the Fleadh has re-teamed with Cases Wine Warehouse to present another combined film viewing / wine tasting. This year’s film is Sherry & The Mystery of Palo Cortado, a well rounded and satisfying documentary about the most complex and coveted of sherries, from Jerez de la Frontera in the Andalusian region of Spain. Sherry tasting will take place throughout the film, accompanied by a tasting menu of tapas.

Eduardo Davis from Bodegas Tradicion, the sherry vineyard featured in the film, will provide an introduction to the tasting menu, along with Adrian Bane, head chef of the Radisson Blu. The main course will be the documentary screening, followed by additional tasting of tapas and sherries. MC for the night will be Peter Boland of Cases Wine Warehouse.

The sherries will be brought from Spain by Eduardo and the food on offer includes:

·         Patatas Bravas

·         Figs Roasted With Hazelnuts Glazed with Sherry

·         Organic Mayo Salmon cured in Sherry, Vinegar & Orange

·         Crispy Pork Belly tossed in a Sherry & Honey Reduction

·         Slow Roasted Lamb Rump with Saffron, Rosemary & Orange Aioli

·         Heirloom Tomatoes marinated in Sherry

The price is an all inclusive €30 and tickets are limited.

The sensory screening of Sherry and the Mystery of Palo Cortado takes place in the Radisson Blu Hotel on Wednesday 8th July at 7pm.
